Regional Programs

Our regional programs efforts focus on supporting health departments to define regional agendas, benefit from each other's learners, and create economies of scale for health equity.

For twenty years, those efforts have engaged our 11 founding Bay Area health departments. Today, our Bay Area efforts continue as a corner stone of our efforts—and the heart and soul of our health equity inspiration.

In 2024, our support for regional collaboration will expand through the National Equitable Recovery Alliance. If you are seeking support to launch a regional collaborative designed for the specific needs of your region, please let us know.

  • A membership body, with leadership from all Bay Area health departments, this committee sets regional priorities to advance health equity. Today, they are focused on rebuilding the public health workforce, codifying the best of equity in emergency response efforts, supporting the region's Pacific Islander Taskforce and addressing Black health equity. Their shared communities of practice include a data committee of the region's epidemiologists and the region's Equity Officer community of practice.

  • A membership body, continuing the work of the SPARCC Collaborative for equitable development, BARHII provides targeted support for ensuring the recovery from COVID-19 and its economic aftermath reaches communities most impacted by health equity through training, technical assistance, and coaching support. Opportunities to join this effort will open in 2024.
